Student Recognition Programs
“Student of the Month”
Each month, parents and other family members are invited to attend breakfast ceremonies where students who have made positive contributions to the school and the community receive special recognition.
Perfect Attendance
Students who have perfect attendance during a marking period receive certificates of merit. Students with perfect attendance for the entire school year receive medals in the fall of the following year except for twelfth graders with one or more years of perfect attendance that are honored at Swenson’s graduation ceremony.
Distinguished and Meritorious Honor Roll
Students who earn all A’s have “Distinguished Honor Roll” status; students with all A’s and B’s have “Meritorious Honor Roll” status. For these honors during a marking period, students receive certificates of academic achievement. For the final report, students receive special recognition in the fall of the following year except for twelfth graders who are acknowledged at Swenson’s graduation ceremony.
Swenson Students “Caught Doing Good”
Teachers and staff members for providing a positive image of Swenson recognize students by being role models for their peers. Students are recognized by the school with special incentives and awards for adding to a positive school climate.
The National Technical Honor Society
Swenson students are able to apply for membership in the local chapter of the prestigious National Vocational-Technical Honor Society. An installation ceremony takes place in December of each year for eligible eleventh and twelfth graders who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, attendance, behavior, school spirit and community service.
